About Us
Spotlight on Poverty and Opportunity was launched in October 2007 by major U.S. foundations to encourage nonpartisan debate during the 2008 campaign season about policy approaches to addressing poverty and expanding opportunity.
Today, Spotlight continues to serve as a platform for ongoing dialogue on how best to meet the needs of those who have fallen into poverty, as well as those who have long struggled to achieve economic mobility.
Public figures across the political spectrum contribute to its exclusive commentary section, participate in webcasts, and rely on Spotlight’s one-stop resource for the latest news, research, data, and analysis on poverty and opportunity.
