Some survey data show that retirees struggle to get by on private retirement plans alone, leaving them highly dependent on Social Security benefits. But new research indicates that retirees’ incomes are substantially higher than previously believed. The American Enterprise Institute (AEI) will host a discussion of the new studies and the state of poverty among retirees. Speakers include Peter Brady, economist at the Investment Company Institute; Joshua Mitchell, economist at the U.S. Census Bureau; and Kevin Moore, member of the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve.
