Spotlight Team

Spotlight on Poverty and Opportunity is managed by the Center for Law and Social Policy (CLASP), a non-profit organization in Washington, D.C. that seeks to improve the lives of low-income people by developing and advocating for federal, state and local policies to strengthen families and create pathways to work. Jodie Levin-Epstein, deputy director at CLASP, leads the Spotlight management team, which includes organizations and individuals that have worked with presidential administrations, campaigns, and elected officials from both sides of the aisle over the past two decades. Organizations participating in this team include:
·         The Annie E. Casey Foundation, a private charitable organization dedicated to helping build better futures for disadvantaged children in the United States. AECF provides strategic advice and philanthropy outreach.
·         Freedman Consulting, LLC, and Civic Enterprises, strategic consulting, communications planning and policy development firms. Freedman Consulting and Civic Enterprises manage the In the News, Polling and Exclusive Commentary features of the Spotlight website and provide support for Spotlight events.
·         The Hatcher Group, a public affairs and communications firm that connects nonprofits and foundations to policymakers and the media. The Hatcher Group manages the events, research and In the States features on the website, the weekly electronic newsletter and provides support for Spotlight events.
·         N.A.K. Production Associates/Treefort, is a media production company that produces social issue documentaries. N.A.K./Treefort designed the Spotlight website, manages the webcast feature and multimedia section of the website and provides video support for Spotlight events.
