Spotlight Webcast: Pell Grants

Compelling stories of grant recipients

The Federal Pell Grant Program provides need-based grants to low-income undergraduate and certain post-baccalaureate students to promote access to post-secondary education. Students may use their grants at any one of approximately 5,400 participating post-secondary institutions. The Pell program has become the subject of intense scrutiny as part of on-going deficit debates with some legislators calling for cuts and as others urging increases.

Spotlight's Jodie Levin-Epstein spoke with three Pell Grant recipients, Sean Litteral, Jaime Hatfield and Luis Sosi, about their stories and the impact the Pell Grant has had on their lives.
