As policymakers consider reauthorization of child nutrition programs, James Weill, president of the Food Research Action Center (FRAC), discusses FRAC’s 10 year campaign to address childhood hunger and the key role of state and local anti-hunger organizations. Among the wide-range of topics covered, Weill discusses prospects for reaching President Obama’s goal of ending childhood hunger by 2015, the impact of the Economic Stimulus Package on poverty and hunger in the U.S., and the increasing number of middle class families teetering on the brink of poverty. The interview is moderated by Spotlight’s Mary Jo Walsh.
